FACS Food Extravaganza

Mrs. Adcock's FACS  Consumer Resource Mgt Class worked on entrepreneurship projects where they had to go through the process of developing a business.

They developed the following food trucks: Food Flicks by Hunter & Kenna, B&D Grill Cheese by Baily & Deva, G&M Desserts by Grant & Matthew, The Dairy Fairy by Ethan, Steak-Out, Take-Out by Tyler, Breakfast Trio by Camden, Kealey, & Alaina, and Double Trouble by Kaylee.  Elizabeth chose to do a café called 7th Heaven and visualized it being located in the old Blythedale Bank.

In addition to food businesses, we had Breathless Photography by Cheyenne and Empire Design Marketing by Mardee Sadowsky, which is her STAR Event project she will use in the competition this summer.

All students had to come up with themes, logos, slogans, equipment with prices, and write a letter requesting a loan. Those doing the food businesses had to make a model of their business, develop a menu, calculate the cost of each item, and price items to make a profit.

In the Breathless Photography business, Cheyenne had to develop a portfolio, business front display, and price list.

In Mardee’s marketing business she had to develop a portfolio to include projections, costs to operate, prices, and samples for a display.  Her project contained even more than mentioned as it is the one to be used for competition at the National STAR Events in Anaheim this July.

On April 24 each student presented their project to the high school staff and faculty.

Students with food businesses had to make a food product that was to be sold in their business.  Faculty and staff got to enjoy samples of their food.
