The Bethany Republican-Clipper asked Dr. Wilhite, "How North Harrison manages to reach such high-performance scores each year. Following you can read Dr. Wilhite's response to the paper:
"The APR (Annual Performance Report) is based on student performance. Simply put, our APR scores are high because our students perform at a high level. It is my belief that our students perform at a high level because of the high level of quality being poured in to them. At North Harrison, our teachers do a great job of teaching our students, motivating our students, and expecting the best of our students. The teachers, and all employees for that matter, work together to help each student succeed. Teachers are allowed and encouraged to try new things. Professional development is a focus. Our employees work together as a team for the benefit of the students. All employees, no matter what their jobs, play an important role in educating each and every student and they take pride in that at North Harrison. Similarly, the parents and the community are partners in the education of the students. It amazes me how much the community supports the school and how much of a team effort there is throughout the entire district. I am proud of our student's performance, but I am also proud of the performance of the employees, parents, and community as a whole. Everyone involved plays a vital part."
