Catchy Candy Wrappers
Task
When marketing a product such as candy, how the product is packaged can be as important as how it tastes. A marketer must decide what shape container is best, how much candy the container should hold, and how much material it will take to make the container. To make these decisions, you must be able to identify three-dimensional objects, calculate their volumes, and calculate their surface areas.
During this webquest you will design and build an eye-catching package. The package must be marketable and functional. It will be based on a geometric shape that can be easily constructed using a pattern or net.
Upon completion of the webquest, your team will build a model prototype of the package for a presentation to Charlie. The package you design should display your hard work and the effort you have put into this task.
