Process

Step 1: You will be grouped in groups of 2; teacher chosen groups. You will have daily partcipation points; rubric.

Geographer- maps out trip and decides the order to research/visit each continent

Historian- researchers interesting facts

Step 2. When you have been grouped with your partner, start to discuss what you already know about the world, continents, oceans, or any geography knowledge. Have a conversation about how where a person lives influences their lives. Think about the culture, environment, resources, and land features affect people's lives.

Step 3. In your folder each of you have a map of the world, with an outline of each of the continents and oceans. Blank Map With your partner develop a plan of where to start and what you are going to be looking for when researching the continents and oceans. Start researching the following resources:

Step 4. Once you think you have all your needed information, with your partner start to plan how you want to present your idea for your field trip to all the continents and oceans. You will use Notebook program on your computer to create your trip. Please look at the rubric for expectations. You will be given two days to complete this presentation.

Step 5. We will practice our presentations before presenting infront of the class. Please be good listeners and respect the presenters; rubric.

Step 6. Individually you will take your notes and choose your favorite continent to compare it with the North America. Using a Venn Diagram put your information in to use as a graphic organizer. Write a comparison and contrasting paper telling similarities and differences of North America and continent of your choice. Please refer to rubric to meet all expectations. Write a rough draft skipping lines, and then have a peer edit your work before doing your final draft.

Step 7. You will read the paper outloud to the class.
