Veteran's Day Assembly

November 12, 2018

The North Harrison school honored the area Veteran's at the Veteran's Day Assembly on Monday, November 12, 2018 beginning with a breakfast served in the school cafeteria. 

Logan and Lane Huitt carried the flags in to open the ceremony.  The band played the Star Spangled Banner and other songs honoring the military. 

Emma Jones and Mathew Heinz sang "Some Gave All" with the Choir.  The Veteran's awarded students prizes for the Veteran's Essay contest and elementary Veteran's Day poster winners. 

Elementary poster winners were:  3rd - Kaylie Hernandez, 2nd - Lani Briggs, 1st - Katie Harris.

Middle School essay winners were: 3rd - Kayka Wilson, 2nd - Jayliegh Robins, 1st - Keygun Johnson.
High School essay winners were: 3rd - Ashlyn Gilpatrick, 2nd - Collin Briggs, 1st - Naomi Thomsen

Lane Graham's name was drawn from among all of the names of students writing essays for the Veteran's Day assembly.  Lane received $100.00

Mardee Sadowsky was awarded 1st place and $100.00 and Gavin Garrett 2nd place and $75.00  for their "Voices of Democracy" essays. 

Students, staff and Veteran's heard a moving speech from former NH 2001 Alumni Jodi Bowles who is a Master Sergeant in the Airforce about honoring Veteran's who serve their country for the sacrifices they have made and their commitment to the United States of America.
