Home Football Protocols

Panther Football Fans

Protocol for home activities concerning Covid-19 Social Distancing

At this time, Pattonsburg is in MSHSAA’s level 3 and we are allowing all spectators to attend our athletic contests. At this time we are making the following recommendations:

  • There will be very limited seating in the bleachers in order to attempt to spread out the Band(s).
  • It is recommended that family units sit together in pods and that family pods be spaced at a minimum of 6 feet from one another. Elementary students and non-athletic participants should be sitting with their family group. This would eliminate the elementary students having their traditional football games on the side of the hill.
  • It is recommended not to be standing in line for restrooms and concessions. Concession stand items will be limited to pre-packaged items and drinks in order to eliminate waiting for preparation of items.
  • It is recommended that there be no gathering around the picnic table area.
  • If it is difficult for you to adhere to these recommendations then it is recommended that you wear a mask while in attendance at our athletic events.
  • As always, the lower level parking is for handicap and senior citizens only. This year it is even more important that these individuals are able to park in that location so that they can enjoy the event without being exposed to the general public.

We are sure many of you are frustrated or angry about many of the decisions that we have had to make about how we are approaching athletics. We are also very frustrated because as administrators we have never experienced anything like this before. We hope we are overreacting because, if we are, that means that we will have a football season, we will have a softball season, and our cheerleaders will cheer and that then we will move into a basketball season. Most importantly, it will mean that our school will remain open. Decisions and precautions now may allow us to have a normal winter and spring sports season, Prom, Athletic and Academic Awards banquet, and most importantly, a normal graduation for the Class of 2021.

So, Panther fans, let’s do our part whether we like it or not to keep our kids and our community healthy and to keep our school open as long as possible with our athletic programs active further into the year.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Lee Warford

Athletic Director
