North Harrison Elementary Student Council Service Project

The North Harrison R-3 Elementary Student Council chose for their service project this year, Cans for Cancer.  They recently spent two weeks collecting recyclable cans to cash in for a donation to the American Cancer Society.  The student council members collected cans from classmates and weighed them daily during the service project.  The second grade class collected the most cans with a collection of 186 pounds and 10 ounces of cans.  They won a pizza and pop party for their efforts.  The total cans collected were 573 pounds and the North Harrison Elementary students were able to donate $257.85 to the American Cancer Society.  The North Harrison Elementary student council members are John Mancuso, Hunter Stevens, Kasey Berendes, Gavin Garrett, Ryan Thomsen, Dallas McNeal, Clay Parkhurst and Emily Briggs.
